How islands work

How islands work: the quest chain, the shops, the stations and what lies on the ground

Every island follows one pattern: an NPC wants something, hands back a bait, the bait hooks a boss, and the boss drops the key to the next island. The shop grows behind you and never shrinks, apart from one disc.

One boss per island, in order. Each one's trophy is what the next island's gatekeeper wants.

Who stands on each island

The game does not name its NPCs on screen. This site calls them by what the achievements call them where an achievement names one (the lighthouse keeper, the lady in the forest, the tourist, the military) and by what they do otherwise.

Where this leaves the route

The order of tasks on each island is laid out on the stage hubs, and unlocking every island walks the whole chain in the order you meet it, with the cheapest hand-in for each step.
